Amy Winehouse was hospitalized in London Wednesday for "severe
exhaustion," a Universal Music spokeswoman said.

The 23-year-old soul singer was released in the afternoon and advised to
"take complete rest," said Serena Gallagher. Winehouse's scheduled
performances in Norway and Denmark this week have been canceled.

The big-haired singer is scheduled to begin the North American leg of her
tour in September.
